Hi, I'm Allison, and I'm committed to helping you navigate through difficult times, restore your resilience, and foster personal growth that deepens your life experience. I prioritize creating a safe and non-judgmental space where compassion, respect, and deep listening guide my interactions with you. I enjoy collaborating with my clients to explore new perspectives and develop practical strategies for their specific goals.

I work with individuals seeking relief from anxiety, depression, grief, relational distress, addiction, trauma, PTSD, and the stress of life transitions. I provide a personalized approach for each client that draws from traditional modalities, experiential techniques, somatic attunement, nature-based practices, mindfulness, breathwork, and yoga.

For many years, my passion for helping others has led me to invest time and love into volunteer work, which became a springboard to my career as a social worker and psychotherapist. I have been a volunteer teacher in Tanzania and with Better Decisions (a program for incarcerated women), and have served in various roles with the Red Cross, End Slavery Tennessee, Habitat for Humanity, Tennessee Dance Theater, and Nashville Literacy. I have also co-led groups of adult and teen volunteers to Mexico, Honduras, rural Tennessee, and New Orleans.
When my professional path became clear, I went back to school to earn my Master's degree from the University of Tennessee School of Social Work. I went on to work in residential treatment facilities, metro schools, psychiatric hospitals, and a university counseling center, before finding my forever home at Hazel House.
I follow my own prescription of “doing what you love to do” by wandering wildly in nature, dancing, kayaking, and traveling. I would love to also support you in doing what you love. Even if that feels out of reach for you at this time, we will find a path together and start walking.
